IN TERCOLONIAL U NIVEESITY MATCH. By Electric Telegraph.—-Copyright. United Press Association. Sydney, July 5. The match, New Zealand Universities v. Sydney University, took place to-day, the ‘visitors winning by 9 points to 3. The ground was under water, and there was an attendance of several hundred. For the first half' play was hard and even, and was' mostly confined to the forwards. The spell ended New Zealand 6, Sydney 3. Rain fell unceasingly during the second half, and the greasy ball made passing impossible. The final scores were: New Zealand 9, Sydney 3. For Now Zealand, Grace and Molloy scored tries, and Nome kicked a penalty goal. N.Z. RUGBY UNION. (Per Press Association.) Wellington. July ■>. The management committee of the New Zeal an cl Rugby Union decided this evening that the North and South Island match be played at Wellington on October 7th. The Southland Union’s action in removing the disqualification from \V. j. Carrie was endorsed. Action was deferred in reference to an appeal bv the White Star Club (Westport) against the decision of the Buller Union in awarding Cape Eoulwind Club a win on the ground that the White Star Club did not cooperate under the union’s insurance fund. The South Auckland Union wrote protesting; against the Auckland Union asking that a Ranfurly Shield match be played on a Wednesday. It was decided that,a copy of the letter he sent to the Auckland Union. AUCKLAND REPS.’ ITINERARY. Auckland, July 5, The itinerary of the Auckland Rugby Unions‘southern tour was decided at this evening’s mooting. The reps, will leave Auckland on August 20; play Wellington on September 2, Dunedin on September 6, Canterbury on September 9, and Taranaki on September 14. The team will return to Auckland via Onchunga. The union decided to charge the New Zealand Union 25 per cent, of the gross takings (the actual rental) for the North island v. Country Team’s match. A request from Hawke’s Bay Union for a match at Napier was refused.

Brisbane, July 5. The weather was tine and tire attendance a thousand for the match today. The Queenslanders were much heavier than on .Saturday.. A number of prominent Now Zealanders did not play. The Queenslanders had the assistance of a breeze in the first half, and had ranch' the better of the game. Brilliant tackling, prevented the New Zealand backs from moving. New Zealand’s offside play and hanging to the bail cost them several tries. At half-time Queensland veto 7, Now Zealand nil. In the second spell the Queenslanders played brilliantly, completely outclassing the New /eaandevs, whose three-quarters were unable pletely outclassing the New Zealanders played strenuously rowan Is the close and scored twice.
