AMUSEMENTS.

TAYLOR-CARRINGTON COMPANY There was only u moderate attendance at the Town Hall last night, when the Taylor-Carringtou Company presented their farcical and musical comedies, entitled the “Girl from Chicago” and “’Airy and ’Arnett.” This class of entertainment, judging by the enthusiasm, shown, is no doubt just what theatre-goers appreciate, there being hearty laughter from start to finish. Three songs were introduced during the acts, and received merited; applause, “Flannagah” and “There’s a Jack for Every Jill” being especially good. The management announced their intention of paying a return visit to Stratford with an entire change of programme, in about two months’ time. HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. The Australian bushranging tale “Thunderbolt,” was again well received at His Majesty’s Theatre last night. This evening an entirely new programme will be submitted. The dramatic pictures include “Onokoc’s Vow” (a North American Indian tale), “Carmen” (a Spanish story), and “Fatima” (a drama in a Hindu setting). The industrial side is ro>sjesented by “Fisher Folk” and the eu'Jcatioaal by “Germination of Plants.” A fine film will also he screened showing scenes in Jerusalem. | A full range of comics will also be shown. WEST’S PICTURES. At the .Town Hall to-night West’s Pictures will submit a fresh progratame of pictures. The chief film will .be one representing this year’s race for the English Grand National,' showing the whole of the exciting incidents throughout the race. Another special picture deals with the Wellington Coronation Exhibition, showing most of the exhibits. The usual selection of comic and dramatic picture's will also be shown.
