GAS EXPLOSION.
A PECULIAR, OCCURRENCE., (Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 3. As two men named Ridley and Kin" wore mission the weigh-hridge shod, rear Taranaki Street wharf, this evening. they smelt gas. (letting into the shed, one of them struck a matca. The result was an explosion, which sent them hurling hack on to the wiiari. knocked over a horse and cart, and ret fire to the building. Both in*m were rather hadly horned about the Lice, hut not injured soriouslv. The firo was put out, hy the lire laigado.
