CHILDREN'S FETE.

A ROYAL ENTERTAINMENT. London, July 1. The King spent £30,000 on the children's fete. The organisation was remarkable. Ninety-six trains from 56 stations were used, and a thousand children were entrained every eight minutes. The whole were divided into nine sections, identifiable by special coloured caps and scarves. Every side-show was free. Ten thousand saw “Wild Australia,” 24,000 “The AIIRsd Route,” 50,000 were entertained in tiie Imperial marquee, mid 30,000 in the great pavilion.
