LONDON FESTIVITIES.
A BRILLIANT GATHERING. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. United Press Association. London, June 28. A gala performance at His Majesty’s Theatre included the Royal guests, ambassadors, members of Cabinets, Mi. Fisher, Sir J. G. Ward, ami other colonials and Indians. It was a brilliant gathering, and the theatre was decorated witii red roses in festoons among natural foliage. Mr. Forbes Robertson delivered Mr Given Seaman’s prologue of welcome. Throe hundred of tiia most prominent actors and actresses in Britain played scones from the “Merry Wives of Windsor,” “David Garrick,” and “Julius Caesar,” wherein 240 “supers” (all eminent actors) participated. ; The entertainment .ended with Clara Butt’s singing of the National Anthem. Their Majesties had a great reception in the crowded streets.
