ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.

A WORKMAN’S DEATH. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, June 28. A workman named Charles McDonald Agncw fell some sixty feet from tho top of the new ferry building this afternoon, and received injuries which resulted in his death at the district hospital a few hours later. Deceased was 33 years of ago, and leaves a widow and one child. Christchurch, Juno 28. A sad death occurred at Sydenham this morning, Mrs. Schultz, of Dudley Street, Addington, being found drowned in Jackson’s Crook. Mrs. Schultz was residing with her sister, Mrs. Blythe. At G. 30 a.m. to-day Mrs. Schultz was seen in her room, and then appeared to bo in her usual health and spirits, .but at 7 o’clock she was missed, and on a search being made, a chair was discovered against the backyard fence, on the other side of which lies Jackson’s Crock. Mrs. Schultz was found lying face downwards in the creek in about four or five inches of water. She was then finite dead. At the inquest a verdict was returned that deceased was found drowned, but there was no evidence to show how she actually got into the water. Palmerston North, Juno 28. Frederick William Schlieriki, aged 29, committed suicide yesterday afternoon by cutting his throat with a razor in a washhouse at his mother’s re--sidence. Deceased had been in business as a plumber. Tho reason for his act is at present unknown. Dunedin, June 28. A married man named Daniel Finlayson, aged 52 years, residing in Morningtou, who was employed on the dredge Vulcan, was drowned this afternoon. He was due at work at 3.30 p.rn., and on going on board the dredge ho had to go down some steps. It is surmised that ho slipped off the steps and fell into the water, the body being found in tho water.
