AUSTRALIAN POLITICS.

Sydney, Juno 28. In the Assembly Mr. Storey, leader of the Independent Party, announced bis intention to oppose a new industrial Bill. This may mean jeopardising the position of the Government in regard to the Bill. Adelaide, June 28. The Governor opened Parliament and announced a credit balance at the end of Juno of £200,000, which will bo used in reducing the public debt. Proposed legislation includes the purchase and control of wiiarves, railways to open up the malice scrub lands for settlement, adult suffrage for Legislative Council, a Bill for the settlement of deadlocks between the two Houses, and an Arbitration Act. The Government intend to establish brickworks, and a wood yard to supply the public with firewood. A Supply Bill of half a million sterling was passed, and both Houses adjourned until Tuesday, when Mr. Peake moves a want of confidence motion on the administrative acts of the Government during the recess.
