A NICE FRUIT CAKE. H;ilf a pound of flour, livo ounces of butter, a quarter of a pound of’ sugar, one ounce of citron peel, two tablespoonFuls of currants, two tablespoon! ids of sultanas, one tablespoonful of stoned raisins, one level tenspoonful of baking powder, two eggs, a quarter of a teaspoonful each of ground cinnamon and ginger, a quarter of a cupful of milk. Boat the butter and sugar to a cream, then add the yolks of tbe eggs well beaten, sift in the ilour and baking powder, add the fruit, slim! tiio pool, and add it, then add the milk, and whites of eggs stillly beaten, mix gently, pour into a buttered and iloured cake-tin. Bake in a moderate over for two hours. This is an excellent cake to servo with “Dragon” brand tea. This tea is me of the popular brands on the market, tbe others being “Klepbant.” “Crescent,” and “Mikado” blends, either of which will please the palate. The Dragon blend is very rich and very economical, in the teapot. It is very strong and less of tbe tea must be used, as compared with other teas, to obtain a given amount of liquor.
