A BUSH TRAGEDY.
By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. United Press Association. Perth, June 25. Another bush tragedy has occurred. Three timber-getters, Smith, Butler, and Wake, were camped at Kellerberi in. Smith quarrelled with the others and left, the camp .-Ho returned while Butler was preparing dinner, and struck him on the head with a mattock, knocking him into the fire. A fourth man tiled to pull him out, but Smith struck this man and forced him to desist, without seriously injuring him. A search discovered Wake in the bush with his head terribly battered. Butler and Wake were removed to the Northern Hospital. Neither is expected to recover. Smith, carrying the mattock to the police station, surrendered. (Received 20, 5.5 a.m.) Perth, June 26. Butler has succumbed to injuries. Smith is apparently demented. This message is as sent, and does not show that Smith injured Wake, although it mentions lie was seriously assaulted.
