It is reported that the Government does not intend to pass the Finance Bill in the House of Comv mons until after the issue raised by Parliament on the Veto Bill has been settled. In the West Ham election case, the Judges decided that Mr Masterman’s election agent was guilty of corrupt practices, in knowingly having returned untrue election expenses. Judgment will ho; given to-morrow. " GILT-EDGED SECURITIES. . (Received 20, 11.20 a.m.) London, Juno 19. Mr. Lloyd-George, questioned in the House of Commons as to the cause of the fall in gilt-edged securities since 1906, explained that the fall was duo to the absorption of capital in the South African War, the broadening of trustee investments, and the Government, borrowing for Irish land purchase. ■K • , ; s ' 1 ■ ’
