The Maori team, which toured Australia last year, asked for a match on August 9th.—Members thought a match should be played in Stratford, but it was pointed out that 'Thursday, August lOtlii, had been set aside for tho trial match.—Mr Malone thought it would be a better idea to play the Maoris than to play a trial match.—Mr Skoglund suggested that a team bo picked to play the Maoris and another thirty be picked to play, a trial match as a curtain-raiser.— It was decided to play the team on August Kith at Stratford. RESIDENCE. Tho secretary of the Waimate Club objected to forfeiting tho matches in which D. Ryan had played, on tho grounds that he has been for nine years a member of the and that his home was in Manaia. —Ryan attended the meeting.—The chairman said the committee desired him to explain tho posiiton.—He said that he spent three days a week in Manaia, I and two each in Eltham and Hawora. ! Ho assured the Committee tixat lie | was a bona lido resident of Manaia.— ! it was decided that the cluh’s explanation be accepted. REP. MATCHES. Tho New Zealand,-Union suggested August 3rd as a date for a game between tho North Island rep. team and Taranaki at iNow Plymouth.—lt was stated that on July :70th the Satur-day-Thursday matchc would lie played, and tho North-South match on July 27th. This could be done if the Eltham-Clifton and InglewoodTukapa matches were abandoned.— It was decided to ask the Executive to make arrangements for having the matches abandoned. The opinion was expressed that, as Eltham and Inglewood were hopelessly out of the competition, they would probably drop their matches. 'j he Canterbury Union asked for a match with tho Taranaki team, promising to send a team to Taranaki in 1912 and 1914.—1 t was decided to play Canterbury. Messrs McLeod ami Buchanan voted against the motion. It was decided to endeavour to arrange a match with South Canterbury. The Mangaliua Union is to bo informed that the rep. team cannot play tho Union’s team. A DISPUTED GOAL. The Tukapa,Club enclosed a letter cert to _ the Stratford Club, asking that their senior match against Strutfoid bo ro-playcd, as there was considerable dissatisfaction regarding the last goal awarded to Stratford.—lt was decided to take no action. OFFENCES. Mr W. Roch reported that on June Sth he ordered Mr Cain (Clifton) olf the hold for tripping a Tukapa player.—Cain wrote, denying tho charge, alleging that it was an accident.— Mr Chalmers thought the referee’s 'tend should bo taken as final—-if lie sail there was tripping it should be taken .for granted that there was.— The Chairman said it. was not said that Cain had actually tripped, but that he appeared to attempt to do so.—Cain is to stand down for two Thursdays. Mr O’. West reported having ordered J. Bullet and T. Jones off the field for fighting in the Star-Clifton first junior match on May 25th.—To bo suspended for a month from the date or the incident. A motion, by Mr Chalmers, that the suspension be for the rest of the season, lapsed for want of a seconder. Mr Nuttall, referee in the ElthamStar second match, reported having ordered a man from each team for misbehaviour. He did not see any blow struck, one man merely being in an offensive attitude. ’Up to that time tho game had been rough, but tho men being sent off quitened tho game down. Ho advised that it would suffice if the men were cautioned.—Decided to caution tho men. A MISTAKE. Eltham explained that an error had been made in regard to Moir.—Mr Cnalmers said the secretary had made a satisfactory explanation, to tho off opt that Moir’s name had boon on a list which had been overlooked.— The explanation was accepted. PROTEST DEPOSIT FORFEITED. The secretary of the Pa tea Club entered a protest against Hawera thirds being awarded the game against Patea on the gionnd that Knarangi was not eligible as a member of the team, and that tho team included two juniors.—Tho Hawera Club wrote that -Knarangi was a bona fide resident, and that the two men mentioned as first juniors were second juniors.—lt was decided to accept the exp’anation, and to forfeit the guinea forwarded by Patea. FIRST-ROUND FORFEITS. Mr J. H. Thompson, referee in the Star-Stratforcl third match on Thursday, wrote that the Star Club failed to turn up or to send notice of forfeit. Ho objected to referees’ time being wasted, —Star Club to send an explanation.,—lt was also decided that trams which forfeited in the first roin I shronld travel in the second round. REFEREES’ EXPENSES. The Inglewood Club asked if referees’ foes for the matches postponed on May 18th, wore payable by the Union.—Decided to pay for tho two referees at Inglewood. SUI3STI 'J 1 UTES’ POSITIONS. The Now Plymouth Club asked regarding the status' of junior players. One of their juniors Pad played in a few senior matches. The Chili was not sure if lie would be regarded as a senior.—Decided that the player lie regarded as a junior. REINSTATEMENTS. The following reinstatements were granted —Patch—K. Broughton, first junior; Star, L. Whitaker, first junior; Eltham, C. Carlson, senior to first, junior, E. West, W. Riordan, and C. Clnrrv, first to second junior; Startlord—W. Jones, first to second junior; Undo wood—W. Orr and L. Olson, senior to first junior; Hawora A. Reid, senior to first junior; Wai-matc—-T. Mourie, first junior to .second junior; .). Paterson and W. King, sonio rto first junior; T. Taylor, first, to second junior; Clifton— H. Purdie, senior to first junior; C. Bridgor, first junior to second; 1.1tham—G. Clarry, H. 'Ward, R. Darkness, A. Whiling, L. Brown, and W. Clover, senior to first junior. L. Whitaker, Star, was ro-instated as a first junior. CORONATJON DAY. The Chairman said there was a mistaken idea that matches would not be played on Coronation Day. Matches would bo played as usual.
