The House of Commons, by a division of 156 to 80, scut St. Paul s Bridge Bill back to the committee because the plan did not give a direct vista to St. Paul’s Cathedral. The Corporation of London is nr.-’ favourable to the scheme of placing the bridge further westward, on the ground that it would cost 10 to 20 pci cent. more.
