i ; On reading the account of the discussion at "the recent meeting of the Opunake Town Board re the m'-cl-ings. of delegates to lie hold at Kapuni on Juno 14. to dismiss ladway matters (says 1 lie Normaiiliy correspondent of the “Star”) 1 notice that the chairman and some ei the members doubt the good faith of the N ci man by Town Board, and seem to unplv selfisli motives to that body as the reason for calling the meeting. Now, the Normahby Town Board as at present constituted consists of levelheaded, practical men, who recognise the great necessity for the immediate construction of this railway as a means of saving the roads from the heavy traffic, and therefore relieving the pockets of. the ratepayers, came to the conclusion at their last meeting, that the host and only way to pus!; tliis matter forward would ho by calling a meeting of delegates from ah local bodies and dairy companies to discuss the matter and arrange for the circulation of a monster petition' to be presented to Parliament next cession.
