FIRES.

A WELLINGTON BLAZE. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, June 12. About 1 o’clock this morning one of tho biggest fires experienced in Wellington for a considerable time broke out in the Government railway mainton mice electrical department. A few minutes after the alarm was given the whole building was in flame,s. Seeing no chance of extinguishing the flames, tho brigade directed its main efforts : n an attempt to prevent tho adjoining butter-box factory from catching alight. Fortunately there v. as no wind, and tho box factory was s:ucd. Tho electrical department was gutted. They had, in "hand all iho electrical appliances for docoratirns in connection with the Coronation. The Government held its own risk.
