The Manawatu Coursing wlub has been allotted the Waterloo Cup for the second vear in succession. it was to have been run in Dunedin in June, but Dunedin has surrendered it to Palmerston, where it will be run off on August 2b to 25. HOCKEY. NEW ZEALAND REFEREES’ ASSOCIATION. (Per Press Association) Christchurch, Last Night. The adjourned meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Referees’ Association was held last evening, when seven associations were represented. The following officers wore elected:—Patron, His Excellency Lord Islington; president, Rev. if. 11. Mathias; vice-presi-dents, the presidents of affiliated associations; secretary, Mr. G. IV. Ford; treasurer, Mr. A. G. Poison; auditor, Mr. P. N. Rundle; management committee, Messrs. E. Hulbort, IT. Hatch, N. Goldsbury, L. Cnsworth, and E. P. Cooper. A considerable amount of correspondence was dealt with, and it. was decided to further communicate with the nnafTiiiated associations asking them to join the association. It was decided to issue a standard ring for the measurement of hockey sticks. The subscription was fixed ai IDs fid for the season. The committee was instructed to reconsider. the ruling on off-side play given last year. Several rulings asked for by different centres were agreed on.
