Auckland, Last Night. In the city and suburbs and likewise hi the country districts, an epidemic ot measles is reported. Nearly every school ,n the city and its environs reports that tho attendance is seriously depleted as Vho result of the measles outbreak, and

THE RAILWAY SERVICE. Wellington, Last Night. The Railway Review stales that when the executive council ot A.N.tt S. the Hou, J. A. Millar recently, the Minister announced that £50,000 is to be expended upon increases in salaries to railway employees this year. ECONOMIC LET TURKS. Christchurch, Last Night. The colonial executive of the Trades and Labor Council have made arrangements with Professor Mills, of Milwaukee, U.S.A., to give a scries ol lectures throughout New Zealand on economic questions, as he h.TS done in Australia. The secretary of the Trades and Labor Council has been instructed by the executive to proceed to Auckland and meet Professor Mills on Saturday, and arrange his itinerary for the Dominion. GISBORNE HARBOR. Gisborne, Last Night. The Harbor Board has refused by a largo majority to take a referendum of the people as to the provision of the outer harbor. Mil. MASSEY’S TOUR. Invercargill, Last NightAir. Massey addressed a big mooting in the theatre last night, Air. Jas. Allen. MP., being this -time a member of the audience, The Mayor presided, and cordially welcomed Mr. Massey, who had a very good hearing, and 'roused much applause. His address was on the lines of those delivered elsewhere, and brought out nothing new. A vote oi thanks was carried by acclamation at the close of the address.
