A PEARL NECKLACE.
TRIAL OF AN OFFICER AND HIS WIFE. (Received 31, 8.5 a.in.) r< . _ London, May 80. Great interest is being taken in the trial of Lieutenant Cameron and Ids wife at Edinburgh. Two servant girls swore that no one was near Mrs ameron when she said she was robbed of her necklace. A detective gave evidence that theft from beneath a sealskin coat was. impossible. The case has been adjourned. As a sequel to an allegation that a lady, while looking into- a shop at Edinburgh,, was assaulted and robbed of a pearl necklace worth £7OOO, Lieutenant C. Aylmer Cameron, 57th Battery Royal Field Artillery, stationed at riorshill barracks, Edinburgh, and his wife were arrested in February on a charge of ondeavourV uig to obtain insurance money by misF representation. The police were unable to obtain evidence of the assault, and the missing necklace was insured. .
