THE NEW SCHOOL BUILDING.
Tho chairman of the Stratford School Committee (Mr C. D. Sole) has received a copy of the plan of the proposed new school building, which has been approved by the Education Board committee and by the School Committee. The front of the school, facing Fenton Street, will he 127 ft. 6in., with a depth of 87ft. An assembly hall 62ft. by 26ft. is provided. .There are three class rooms 28ft. Gin. by 23ft., and two 27ft. by 25ft. There is_ a teachers’ room and library of 27ft. by 9ft., a headmaster’s room loft, by 9ft. and a caretaker’s room 16ft. by 9ft. The main corridor is 10-lft. by lOit. and the two side corridors are 26ft. by Bft. Full lavatory and cloak room accommodation is provided. Alternative tenders will be called for heating the school by lire grates and hot-water pipes. it is proposed that the corridors bo lighted with Wade’s patent skylights. Alternative tenders will bo called for the work in wood and brick. Two porches arc provided—one on the west side and one fronting Fenton Street.
