SUDDEN 1, DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Joel Falkinder, GO years of age, died suddenly to-day from heart failure. FALL OX AX AXE. Invercargill, Last Night. James Gill, a Imslunan at Edgerton’s mill, met the other day with a nasty accident, which will incapacitate him for some time. It appears that while carrying a saw and an axe in the bush, he stumbled, and fell on the upturned blade of the axe. severing the sinews in the forearm. The cut was seven inches in length, and required eleven stitches. The sufferer lost a considerable quantity of blood before reaching the mill, and on arrival was attended to and driven into Winton for medical aid. FALL FROM A GANGWAY.

FOOTBALL FATALITY. Dunedin, Last Night. Stewart Robertson, 21 years of ago, who was plaving in a second grade Rugby football match at Montccillo on Saturday afternoon, received an injury during open play and retired, as lie was in great pain. He was taken in the evening to the hospital, where he died this morning. Medical examination revealed the fact that deceased had sustained a lacerated kidney.
