IRELAND’S DECLINE. London, May 27. The; census for Ireland shows the population to lie -1,381,1)50. [The population in 11)01 was 4,458,775. In 1841, Ireland’s population was 8,175,124.] A . CANADA’S INCREASE. Ottawa, May 27. The census-takers begin their work on Thursday. It is anticipated that the total count will show the population of Canada to bn about eight millions. [At the 1301 census, Canada’s population was 5,571,315.]
