GOOD CAKES. Cornflour Cake.—Twd ounces of flour, two ounces of conflaur, quarter of a pound of castor sugar, two ounces of butter, one toasnoonful baking powder, two eggs. Beat butter to a cream, add sugar, and mix well, break eggs and boat well in. Now stir lightly into this mixture the cornflour, flour and baking powder, and boat well for five minutes; Grease and line a cake tin with paper, pour mixture in, and put immediately into a moderate oven. Bake for threequarters of an hour. ■J'ea Cakes.—Quarter of a pound of butter, half-pound : of sugar, three eggs, one gill of milk, one pound of flour, with half toaspomiful of baking powder sifted in it. Stir the sugar and butter well together, tnen boat the eggs, and add them with the milk, then the flour and 1430 of all the juice and grated rind of a fresh lemon. Bake in small patty pans. With cither of these caues it uould be quite correct to servo New Crescent Blend Tea.
