New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.’s Report. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, repo, t ; _\Vc held our fortnightly cattle sale on Tuesday last in our Stratford yards. The yarding exceeded advertised mini hers, there being 703 cattle and 21. owes yarded, of which -117 head of cattle and the ewes were sold. Prices were much firmer for good weatiers and good dairy forward cows, both of which met with* keen competition from luunoronr buyers, while store steers wore; neglected: and backward store cows were not in as good demand as lately, although what we yarded were tlmposed of at full market value. Iho following prices were realised:— Weaners, backward and low condition, 13s to 20s; fairly well grown, from 22s to 20s, one good line from Waipuku (mostly steers) being sold at 29s (Id, and a nice line of Jersey weaner heifers at -13 s (id; Jersey heifers from Denbigh Road, at 17s : store cows, small and low condition, lbs to bbs, medium weights b(is to 70s (id; fat and forward cows, light 90s to 97s (id, a nice Tine of fats selling at 103 s; dairy cows up to 110 s; fat heifers from 90s to 97s (id; heifers in call' (good) up to 112 s (id, fair to medium heifers 105 s to 11 Os, 18-20 month heifers 03s to 70s (id; hulls, from Bbs to 87s; while one pedigree Ayrshire hull fetched 1.305.
