• WORKERS AT CROSS PURPOSES. London, May 23. A minority of the council of the South Wales Miners’ Federation declined to recommend the Cambrian minors to accept the agreement offered by the mine-own-ers. Delegates from all parts of the coalfields meet to consider the agreement on Saturday. If rejected contrary to the Miners’ Federation of Britain, the latter may withhold ■ their ■' weekly contribution, which amounts to £3900, to the- strike funds. \ AN APPEAL FOR HELP. By Telegraph.—Press Association. 'Wellington, Last Night. Mr. McLaren. M.P.. has received a letter from Mr. Keir Hardie. M.P.. appealing for funds for (he relief of the miners who went on strike a I Rondda Valley (Sou ih Wales) last September. Mr. Hardie states that as no settlement has been arrived at and Hie dispute may go on for some time, there is a good deal of suffering, and there are hundreds who are not in reeoint of strike pay from the Union Relief funds have been opened up and the committee has autborififd Air.
