o “EAST LYNNE.” The attendance at the Town Hall last night was not so good as the reputation of Allan Hamilton’s Dramatic Company warranted, but this in no wise interfered with the staging of “East Lynne” in the most approved manner. One does not expect to find time for much hearty laughter during the course of this emotional play, unless it bo from the sayings and doings of the kind but somewhat erratic “Miss Cornoy,” yet the innovations introduced last night gave everyone especially the fair sex—a chance of recovering from the effects of witnessing Lady Isabel’s sad plight. The play was well staged, and every actor scored, especially Aliss Frances Grey, who took the dual role of Lady Isabel and Madame Vino. HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. There was a good attendance last evening, when skating took place. Aliss Porter ‘won the potato race, and Air. Wesson the musical chairs event. Tc-night there will he skating POSTER CARNIVAL. /General skating will bn allowed at the Elthani Poster Carnival at 9.30 p.m. This means that all who wish to skate may do so at this hour, irrespective of costume. STRATFORD ORCHESTRAL . SOCIETY. The Stratford Orchestral Society wiu Tlold their second concert at the Foresters’ Hall on Thursday, June Ist. The programme will consist of vocal items by Misses E. Satigstcr and H. Wilson, and Air. Twisa; a quartette by Messrs. Bond, Lewis, Wilson, and Wilk io, and a selection of new and popular orchestral items. POSTER CARNIVAL. The Poster Carnival in Wilkinson’s Hall, Eltham to-morrow evening promises to be a great success, and is evidently going to lie a pleasing spectacle. Patrons are going from both Stratford and Hawcra, and as there will he a band in attendance the skaters should have a most enjoyable evening. Onlookers, too, should be able to spend a pleasant evening.
