BIG ESTATE PURCHASED. Sydney, May 22. The Government, has closed with Sir Samuel McCaughev for the purchase of 70.000 acres of his Yauco estate at £3 10b pa racro. Sir S. McCaughey is retaining a life interest in a portion of the estate including the homestead. REPORTING ON' DISEASED PRISONERS. Sydney, May 22. Mr. W. A. Holman. Minister for Justice. has ordered periodical reports regarding the condition of diseased prisoners. • AERONAUTIC KNOWLEDGE. Melbourne, May 22. While in England Mr. Pearce, Minister for Defence, will communicate, with a committee of experts on aeronautics.
