THE SCHOOL FIRE.
WORK PROCEddITI Nf« AS USUAL. i)o‘nit-> the somewhat extensive damage done hy the fire the ordinary school work proceeded as usual this morning. Some of the rooms m the school building were used, and othei classes were accommodated m the Technical School and the Salvation Army Barracks. Messrs Wade (chairman oi tiic education Board), H. Trimble (memlien), am! Ballantyne (chief inspector) arrived in town by this morning s mad train, and in company with MV. Car•vi]i (local member of the. Board) went into the whole ouestion of the tiro, and consulted with the School Coming tee and the headmaster (Mr. Iyrer) in regard to carrying on for the fiiiie being, and also as to what arrangements should ho made for rebuilding. Tim members of tiic Board held an enquiry i"tn the cause of the fire, as required by the Education Department. Tim Education Board’s works’ foreman (Mr. Moore) also came to Stratford tin's morning to report on the damage done. The School Committee lias made an application to the Coroner for tiic-. holding of an enquiry into the fire. The committee will hold a special meeting to-morrow evening.
