Special Effort To Reach Annual Quota The Invercargill National Savings Committee decided yesterday to make a special effort to reach Southland’s annual quota of £166,088 next week. The objective for the week will be £50,000 which would be sufficient to exceed the required figure. Five districts in New Zealand have, already reached their annual quotas, and every form of appeal will be used and every effort made to place Southland sixth in the list of successes. Last week the Oamaru and Wanganui districts reached their quotas. In addition, 244 towns attained their weekly quotas and all of the 20 postal districts were successful. New accounts are still being opened at the rate of 800 a month. Since July 1 last 33 new savings groups have been established and 2200 new accounts were opened in existing groups.
