PREVIOUSLY INTERNED, NOW REPORTED SAFE Merchant Seaman ex. M.V. Hauraki: R. G. Bell; Wellington. Civilians (including Volunteer Forces); W. S. Bagby; Ellerslie. Gunner H. D. Bruce; Hastings. Captain A. M. McGavin; Te Puke. A. R. Mitchell; Hastings. Dr W. B. Young; Wellington. The following prisoners of war and civilian internees have been evacuated by air from Singapore on October 1:— R.A.F. and R.N.Z.A.F.: SQUADRON LEADER V. B. DE LA PERELLE; WINTON. Flight Lieutenant H. S. Pettit; Wellington. Warrant Officer R. J. Reid; Wellington. Army (Australian Forces): Driver D. L. Cressey; Mt. Eden. Civilians (including Volunteer Forces): W. E. Coates: Christchurch. J. B. Henderson; Motueka. A. R. Mitchell; Hastings. W. W. Rae; Auckland. P. D. Sadden; Nelson.
