MORE BIRTHS LAST MONTH
INVERCARGILL FIGURES A substantial increase in births was recorded in Invercargill last month compared with July 1944. Deaths showed a decrease, and there were more marriages. The figures were:— July 1945. July 1944.
PRUNING DEMONSTRATION.— The annual demonstration of pruning will be held in the rose gardens, Queen’s Park on the afternoon of Saturday, August 11, stated the superintendent of the city reserves, Mi’ B. P. Mansfield, in his report to the City Council at its meeting last night.
