(Special) WELLINGTON, July 27. Following is the special forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office this evening for the period ending 5 p.m. tomorrow: — An anti-cyclone is moving across the northern Tasman Sea. Southwesterly to westerly winds, fresh at times. A few brief showers still likely in coastal districts, but weather otherwise fair. The weather in Invercargill yesterday was cold and cloudy, with occasional bright intervals. There was a strong westerly wind and showers of rain fell during the day. The weather at one o’clock this morning was cold and cloudy, with a strong south-westerly wind. The barometer reading was 30.11 inches (rising).
