BOXING

CLUB FORMED IN BLUFF A meeting to consider reviving interest in boxing in Bluff was held in the R.S.A. rooms, about 20 persons being .present. It was decided to form a club and to apply for affiliation with the New Zealand Boxing Council. The following were elected office-bearers for the 1945-46 season:—Patron, Mr James Calder; president, Mr S. G. Mitchell; vicepresidents, Messrs James Hamilton and F. Eliot; secretary and treasurer, Mr T. Kelly; trustees, Messrs S. G. Mitchell and E. McQuarrie; executive, Messrs W. Lowe, J. Forde, J. Ward, R. P. Cooke, E. McQuarrie, F. Flutey, F. Larby, C. Mawson, P.- Ryan, W. Gilson, A. W. Low, L. Mortimer and C. Patterson. Another meeting will be held soon to consider the holding of a tournament in Bluff.
