WORLD FOOD SHORTAGE
(8.0.W.) RUGBY, May 22. In a statement on world supplies; based on consumption levels in the early part of 1945, compared with the demand, including the requirements of liberated Europe, but not Japaneseheld territories, the Ministry of Agriculture has revealed the following shortages: Meat and bacon,. 1,795,000 tons; canned fish, 383,000 tons; cheese, 96,000 tons; full cream and canned milk, 425,000 tons; full cream skimmed milk powder, 149,000 tons; edible and technical fats and oils, 1,437,000 tons; and refined sugar, 1,853,000 tons.
