NO POSTAL SERVICE FOR GERMANS

British Order Destruction Of Nazi Stamps (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 14. German civilians are not allowed any form of postal services, says the correspondent of Reuter’s with the British forces in Germany. The British Military Government in Germany has ordered the total impounding and destruction of all postage and insurance stamps bearing representations of Nazi leaders. Warlike slogans and designs are regarded as objectionable, and any “glorification of war” stamps will be replaced by a Military Government issue. This reformation is disclosed by Colonel D. T. Gibbs, a former London General Post Office official, who is with 9 team of post office engineers and experts now running postal, telegraph and telephone services for the British Military Government.
