TRAGEDIES CAUSED BY CYANIDE FUMES

Stringent New Regulations Introduced

(Rec. 8 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 7. Five people have been killed by cyanide fumes in Sydney fumigations since February last year. The latest fumigation tragedy occurred late yesterday at a Manly home where an aged woman was killed and seven men overcome by cyanide fumes. Stringent new. regulations controlling cyanide fumigations have been gazetted but do not come into force until May 14. The new regulations were introduced after a tragedy at Pott’s Point last month when three persons were killed and eight others made unconscious by cyanide fumes.
