MR FRASER TALKS TO NEW ZEALANDERS

Visit To Forces Club In London (Official News Service) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, April 18. The Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr P. Fraser, spent several hours at the New Zealand Forces Club, Charing Cross Road, today, meeting and talking with New Zealanders in the services, mostly airmen and soldiers just repatriated from Germany. Mr Fraser spoke to everyone individually. Among the first he met was Sergeant Jack Hinton, V.C. The Prime Minister spent a long time surrounded by New Zealand airmen, who told him of their experiences in the 500-miles trek across Germany. After talking to these repatriated men, Mr Fraser went through the club, chatting informally with many other New Zealanders on leave. He also met officials of the War Services Association and club workers.

Other visitors there today included the New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr W. J. Jordan, and Mrs Jordan, Lady Freyberg, Air Vice-Marshal H. W. Saunders, former chief of the Air Staff in New Zealand, and senior officers of all branches of the New Zealand services. Previously, the Prime Minister had a long discussion with the New Zealand delegates to the Wool Conference.
