DUCK-SHOOTING SEASON

Sir, —In Saturday’s issue of your paper I read with interest the decision of the Acclimatization Society to make 75 cartridges available to every licenceholder in the forthcoming duck-shooting season. As the. regulations of the society allow that the landowner and one son may shoot on the property without a licence, I would suggest that the society looks into this matter, with a view to allowing persons not compelled to take out licences to be supplied with the, ration of ammunition. Last year this situation did not arise until just before the opening date; but now, as the season is over a month away, I feel sure that the society has ample time in which to rectify this anomaly.
