ELDERLY CYCLIST INJURED

Knocked Down By Car

Knocked off his bicycle by a motorcar while cycling along Tay street on Saturday afternoon, Malcolm McKinnon, aged 74, was admitted to the Southland hospital suffering from a fractured skull. He regained consciousness later, and yesterday his condition was reported to be slightly improved. Mr McKinnon lives at 23 Bamborough street. Apparently he was overtaken by the car about the intersection of Tay and Ness streets. The rear of his bicycle was struck by one of the rear mudguards of the car which was driven by David Te Au, a farmer, of Mokotua.
