EXCURSIONS TO STEWART ISLAND

Sir,—l desire to make public my expression of regret to the visitors to Stewart Island on the excursion trip on January 4, 1945, for the break-down in the luncheon arrangements. The unprecedented number of visitors, combined with staff difficulties at the boarding houses, made it impossible to carry out the arrangements as originally planned and which proved, I think, successful on the occasion of the first excursion. I would, however, assure all future visitors that their welfare and comfort will be catered for to the best of the management’s ability, and such arrangements as can be made will be advertised early. J. SLOAN, Manager, Stewart Island Ferry Service.
