TELEPHONE RENTALS DUE

6500 Accounts To Be Paid In Southland Telephone rentals for the six months ending on July 31 fall due in Southland on February 1. This involves the preparation of more than 6,500 accounts, of which 3,300 will be posted to Invercargill subscribers. The accounts will be posted on January 15. A record was created at Invercargill in the previous half-year, when 50 per cent, of the subscribers at Invercargill paid their rentals before the due date. This was appreciated by the Post Office, as it permitted a concentration of staff to undertake the accounting and recording of each payment over.a lesser period. ■
