N.Z. MAGAZINE.— The Christmas number of N.Z. Magazine marks the completion of its 23rd year of publication. An independent journal devoted to New Zealand topics, it contains a number of entertaining articles by Dominion writers and a good proportion of illustrations and sketches. The contributors include Francis Jackson, who fought in Greece, Crete and North Africa and wrote “Passage to Tobruk,” G. N. Norris, described as New Zealand’s leading authority on Katherine Mansfield, J. G. McLean, who records some memories of the British Rugby team’s visit in 1930, Joyce West, a successful short story writer, and Paula Hanger, a young Wellington poet. A series of original sketches made abroad by a New Zealand airman, Henry P. Edwards, are also included.
