Manapouri and Te Anau (98)—Camping, fishing, boating, scenic trips. Tuatapere (51)— Camping, trout fishing. One of the most beautiful domains in Southland. Wakapatu Bay (34)— Camping, sea fishing, bathing. Wyndham (27)—Trout fishing, pig shooting. Among the more distant trips are those to Queenstown (120 miles via the Lake road) and to the Eglinton Valley. Motorists who intend to visit the Eglinton and Hollyford Valleys are advised that they can motor as far as Marion, which is at the junction of the lower Holly ford Valley road, and not to the mouth of the Homer Tunnel or to the lower Hollyford. Camping areas with facilities have been provided at various spots. All the main Southland roads will, it is expected, be in reasonably good condition for holiday travel.
