WEATHER CLEARS AT QUEENSTOWN
KINGSTON ROAD OPEN FOR HOLIDAYS The weather in Queenstown cleared on Saturday evening after showers of rain during the day and yesterday was bright and sunny. The Remarfcables had a mantle of snow, but the barometer was rising and the weather looked as if it had become settled. The Kingston road should be passable for the holiday season, according to advice received from Queenstown yesterday. The Studholme bus travelling through the Lindis Pass reached Queenstown on Saturday. A few slips were encounterd, the worst being at Bendigo Creek. Accommodation in the town is at a premium and steady booking is being received for the camping ground. The Queenstown Borough Council has bought six tents, which it is erecting at the grounds for hire. The tents, which are 12 feet by 10 feet, contain two bunks each.
