ONLY ONE HEALTH CAMP

Six Weeks Period At Omftui Only one health camp extending over a period of six weeks will be held at Omaui this summer. Last summer two camps each lasting four weeks, were held and in all 112 children attended these camps. The change has been made in accordance with the advice of Dr H. B. Turbott, of the Health Department, who considers, from his experience, that if children are to gain full benefit they should remain in camp for six weeks at least. While it may be regarded as unfortunate that only half the number of children will go into camp at Omaui this year as compared with last year’s figure, the six-week camp may prove to be a valuable experiment. The camp will open on January 3. The 56 children who are to attend have already been selected. Gifts in kind for the camp such as fresh vegetables, potatoes (old) and jam will be appreciated. People who are prepared to make jam will be provided with the necessary sugar.
