BRITAIN AND RUSSIA CRITICIZED

(Rec. 12.15 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Dec. 14. Senator C. Wayland Brooks (Republican, Illinois) told the Senate that while America’s flesh, blood and treasure was being hurled against Germany, Europe was being carved up by the two major Allies and the division was being made with American tanks, planes and supplies. “Both Britain and Russia are engaging in a race for the future balance of power in Europe,” said Senator Brooks. “It is clear that Russia intends to expand her empire and plot her philosophy in the Baltic while Britain moves daily to expand her influence and to establish puppet Governments in Italy, Greece, Belgium and France.”
