POSTMAN’S DEATH FROM INJURIES

(P.A.) ASHBURTON, November 27. Raymond A. Scammell, a postman, married, aged 23, with two children, died in hospital as the result of falling 40 feet over a ledge at Sharplin’s Falls yesterday. He was one of a party from the Post and Telegraph Social Club spending a day at the falls, which are 30 miles from town. He had to be carried two miles over a difficult bush track, part of the way on an improvised stretcher.
