ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE
Railway Division Members Inspected
The Railway Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade was inspected on Sunday by Messrs W. R. Curwen, Assistant Commissioner of the Brigade, J. Bemrose, district officer, and J. F. Kennedy, district sergeant. Members of the division were examined in drill and first aid work under the supervision of the divisional superintendent, Mr A. V. Tiley. The division attends to all injured personnel of the railways and for some time has had two members on duty during the arrival of trains containing servicemen returning from duty overseas. These members assist any members of the pulic overcome by excitement or the pressure of the crowds that line the station and its environments. In the past year, during which the Railway Division has held 31 practice parades, members have dealt with 521 cases while on public duty, and 228 private cases, while 10 members belong to blood transfusion groups.
