SHEARING CLASS AT LUMSDEN

Thirty applications were received for the annual shearing class at Lumsden, it was reported at the meeting of the Southland provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union yesterday.’ Because of the number of applications it was decided to •have two classes. One began on November 1 and the other is to begin on November 14.

It was decided on the motion of Mr j. W. Murphy to offer returned men free tuition in shearing and to hold a third class for their benefit, if necessary.
