(Special) WELLINGTON, October 25.’ Following is the special forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office this evening for the period ending 5 p.m. tomorrow:— Pressure is relatively high over the Dominion, with an anti-cyclone centred to the north. Moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly winds. Weather fair to fine. Temperatures moderate to mild.
The weather was warm and sunny in Invercargill yesterday, although at times the sky was cloudy. Towards evening the sky became overcast. There was a fresh south-westerly wind. Light, misty rain was falling at 1 o’clock this morning. There was no wind. The barometer reading was 30.07 in. (falling). The Tides.—High water, Invercargill, 11.10 a.m.; 11.33 p.m. Bluff, 10.29 a.m.; 10.52 p.m. Riverton, 9.29 a.m.; 9.52 p.m. Oreti Beach, 9.38 a.m.; 10.01 p.m. The Sun.— Rises, 5.32 a.m.; sets, 7.32 p.m.
