Private W. G. Kerr, who has been wounded, is the third son of Mrs A. Kerr, Crewe street, Gore. After being educated at St. Mary’s School, Gore, he joined the staff of Fleming and Co., Ltd. He served in the Pacific area for 18 months before being transferred to the Middle East this year. Lance-Corporal A. Main, who has been wounded, is a son of Mrs J. S. Lafranchi, Thomas street, Gore. He was educated at the Waimumu School and the Gore Convent, later joining the staff of Fleming and Co., Ltd., Gore. He went overseas in July of last year and took part in the early Italian battles and at Cassino. Lance-Corporal Main has been wounded for the second time.
