AUSTRALIAN PRIME MINISTER.

Nine Years As Leader Of Party (Rec. 7 p.m.) CANBERRA, Sept. 2. The Prime Minister, Mr John Curtin, has completed nine years in office as Leader of the Commonwealth Federal Parliamentary Labour Party. This is a record term. There have been only seven leaders of the party since federation. The late Mr A. Fisher was leader for eight years and Mr J. H. Scullin for seven years and a-half. This week Mr Curtin will complete three years as Prime Minister. His Government has seen only one change in the personnel since he took office. The change occurred when’the Minister for Information, Mr A. A. Calwell, defeated the former Minister of Transport, Mr N. J. Lawson, at a ballot which followed the last elections.
